Esther Lavern (Hutsell) Richardson, age 70, daughter of Carlos and Blanche (Greenlee) Hutsell was born November 16, 1942 in Huggins, MO. She departed her earthly life June 3, 2013 after a short stay in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, three sons, Carl Gene, Steve and David and one daughter, Connie Lavern.

She is survived by her husband Carl of Mtn. Grove, MO, one son, Randy of Cabool, MO, six grandchildren; Zach, Summer, Tori, Ariah, Cameron and Johna, three great-grandchildren; Kaden, Asher and Marlea, two brothers; Emmitt Hutsell of Huggins, MO and Ernest Hutsell of Oregon and a host of nieces and nephews.

Esther grew up in the Huggins area and went to high school at Houston High.

She married her love at the young age of 15, on May 25, 1958 and five children were born to this union.

Esther was always hard at work, whether it be putting thirty years in at Brown Shoe Factory, being a homemaker at night or keeping the business side straight at the car lot. As hard as she worked Esther always loved the feel of a tug on the end of the line, as fishing was one of her favorite hobbies.

Esther grew up going to church with her parents at the No.1 Church in Huggins and accepted the Lord at an early age. She loved the Lord and relied heavily on him throughout all the heartaches of her life. She rededicated her life to the Lord in the early 1980’s. She was active in the church, serving as Sunday school teacher and church secretary at Southside Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove, MO. After years of dedication at Southside, God called her to a new church home at First Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove, MO.

Later in life Esther found the invention of the computer and would spend hours playing spider solitaire. Some of her favorite times were cookie baking and decorating with all of her grandkids. Esther loved her kids and grandkids, whether it was waiting up late nights for curfew or the countless trips to the orthodontist, she was always there. Esther also enjoyed watching the Mountain Grove Panther football games and DIY home projects.

Esther was a Strong, loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will truly be missed, but she is now walking the streets of gold.
